Another successful SpringThing is behind us and it’s time to celebrate. We achieved a near-record registration count of 59 and all those in attendance had a great time. It was truly an amazing experience for our guests and a wonderful team effort by the Bluegrass Club and affiliates. We began strong on Thursday with beautiful weather, often the biggest issue this time of year, and a party atmosphere in the parking lot. That evening we ventured to Bill and Sarah Richey’s home for a scrumptious BBQ dinner and open house. The Richey’s were so incredibly generous to open the doors to their home and provide the venue and meal for the evening as well as prizes and fun. Our guests got a truly amazing experience that evening. The next morning the weather continued to cooperate as we ventured out into the Bowling Green area for self-guided tours. There was plenty to see from the Corvette Museum to the many cave attractions, everyone had something to do that day, while some just stuck around the parking lot to relax! That night we took over the Corvette Museum for our banquet and tours. The late-night access to the area was a great experience as was the amazing buffet arranged by Linda Moore. The party continued back at the hotel where the weather cooperated to make a beautiful evening strolling the parking lot. By this point most in attendance had heard that there would be no SpringThing 2012 as we were hosting Conclave…that’s when the requests to register for Conclave began pouring in!On Saturday John Rice had arranged for a great trip to Elizabethtown that many people too their time on. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the Kentucky backroads and sites. As we all assembled in E-Town the Funkhana crew setup what is sure to go down as one of the most hilarious Funkhanas on record. Allen Hendrix, Robbie Cook and crew put together a no-holds-barred event that kept the crowd entertained and talking for hours. As we closed the event the laughs and good times continued as well as the hospitality! Awards were handed out, announcements were made and at the close of the event more people continued to ask when they could register for our Conclave.
